Student Loan Debt Has Now Surpassed Credit Card Debt

In a jobless economy the best choice for some young people and the jobless is to go to college and further your education.

Hopefully you pursue a degree that will land you a job after graduation, but unless you or your family are independently wealthy you will probably carry a lot of dept after graduation. The average student loan debt for a 2010 graduate was $27,000 and with the cuts in higher education funding by states, the cost of higher ed will continue to go up.

In 2010 student loan debt now surpasses credit card debt in this country and is a big drain on the economy. So what is the answer?

It's obvious that the cost of a College education will not go down anytime soon...

Raul Ryan and GOP to Kill Pell Grants

 





If Paul Ryan and his GOP buddies have their way it could be the end of the Pell Grant program.

Although they are willing to protect every tax cut for oil companies making billions in profits, they think the Pell Grant that helps educate millions of US citizens every year, cost this country to much.

They seem to be willing to allow the U.S to continue to slip behind other countries willing to invest in education.

I am 28. All the grant and scholarship info is for either minorities, single mothers, or women returning to college who are over 35 years old.

I got laid off from my job in July. It was very flexible about my school schedule. But now I'm having trouble finding work. I am to graduate this May. I cannot drop any classes because several are major specific and but only offered once or twice every 4 years (I go to a small satellite campus of a state university).

I have no co-signer and bad credit.
