For the first time in my life after 25 years of being in the work force I can't find a job that will work with my daughter's visitation schedule with her father I am struggling trying to get any sort of help possible while living on credit cards which I'll have to one day file bankruptcy when I max out. Anyone out there willing to help a single mother like me or

This means that obtaining a college degree could make a difference between a low paying job and a higher paying career. After all if you have to work along with all the other duties normally handled by the women of the house, then you might as well have the highest paying job you can qualify for.

Student Loan Debt Has Now Surpassed Credit Card Debt
In a jobless economy the best choice for some young people and the jobless is to go to college and further your education.
Hopefully you pursue a degree that will land you a job after graduation, but unless you or your family are independently wealthy you will probably carry a lot of dept after graduation. The average student loan debt for a 2010 graduate was $27,000 and with the cuts in higher education funding by states, the cost of higher ed will continue to go up.
In 2010 student loan debt now surpasses credit card debt in this country and is a big drain on the economy. So what is the answer?
It's obvious that the cost of a College education will not go down anytime soon...

I am 28. All the grant and scholarship info is for either minorities, single mothers, or women returning to college who are over 35 years old.
I got laid off from my job in July. It was very flexible about my school schedule. But now I'm having trouble finding work. I am to graduate this May. I cannot drop any classes because several are major specific and but only offered once or twice every 4 years (I go to a small satellite campus of a state university).
I have no co-signer and bad credit.

Career choices Military or Mission?
So I have always aspired to be a veterinarian but recently I have been thinking that it wouldn't be such a great career choice for me. I dont know how to pay for college?
I have always loved learning and to be honest, if you didn't need a degree to do a lot of jobs I could just as easily get the books and teach myself! My husband is currently active duty coast guard, and I am a student at a nearby university. I need some help on where to find Grants for Veteran Dependents?
My Dad was in the Marine Corp for 25 Years and retired as an E8 (MSGT). He's also 70% disabled though the Military. I want to attended College in West Virginia but can't afford to get myself in debt.... I'm going for an associates degree in Legal Assisting (Paralegal). the agency could be private or public. I know when i went to school as a cytotechnologist, Quest Diagnostics offered us 000 if we would go and work for them after graduation. Will I be accepted into Brown after my 4 years in the military?
I recently joined the Army due to the fact that I cannot pay for college, and that I need a career that would also help me save up money for room and board, textbooks, food, and in the meantime provide a decent standard of living.

How to pay for college?
Hi there. i wanted to know some easy ways to pay for college since, one of my options is the military(army) but i cant do that now cause i cant get a military scholarship(med reasons). Now i need a new way to pay for college. I know about grants and whatnot but i dont know how to apply for them or for scholarships. Also as additional info im in soccer,FRC robotics, 3.0+GPA, and my college of choice is NJIT(double major in architecture and civil engineering). Thanks

Scholarship questions?
I'm looking for scholarships to go back to school in a year or so. (I just graduated this year)
I'm an Army wife, so I have nooo idea where I'll be going to school, yet. We're still waiting on our orders. But, given that I'll have my baby by then, I'll most likely be going to a local community college.
My husband recently returned from Iraq, my dad was in the Gulf War, and my step dad (who i was a dependant of for many years) was in the Army for 22 years.
I can't use

Do my grades matter if I get free college through the military?
I was just curious if my grades even matter since I get free college through my father's disability from the military. I wasn't sure if it acted liked a scholarship or not. My grades are fine, and even if it does, I'm still going to maintain my 3.0 GPA, but I was just wondering if it matters, and also, if it effects my acceptance into schools, especially IU-Bloomington. It's an instate school, and I think my grades are good enough.

I applied for Fafsa and went down to the school's office today. I applied for the 2010-2011 school year. I have a 7 month old daughter who lives with me and my boyfriend.
I basically got scolded today for not putting my bf on my fafsa paperwork as a household member. However, when I went home to look at the document again, it only applies to spouses. Legally I am a single mother. So she pretty much scolded me without knowing her facts.
Apparently, since I am unemployed, "I don't support my child" which means I cannot put her on my fafsa. And

I have been told that there are some state colleges that offer war time veterans full ride scholarships and that with the 911 Gi-bill you can recieve bah for three years and because of your colleges scholarship the Military is obligated to pay you your tuition in cash monthly accoring to the average rate of a students tuition at the college you attend. My husband is a current active duty service member that has deployed overseas. Can anyone give some much-needed Scholarship Advice?
So I'm currently a first-year student at PSU and I absolutely love it. The problem is that I am relying heavily on loans to pay for my education. With the cuts in education, the tuition will rise even more than it does annually. I'm really worried about this because my parents both work to support me and seven siblings. I'm the only one in college but it's still a heavy burden on us all.

I am a single mother, have no stable job, Im' having dificulty in supporting my child, and i can't afford to support all his needs and my personal needs... can anyone help to find a work through on line job or donate or gave 1 computer unit to use as my starting busines in doing computer services in our place. It can be a very big help to me and my child if someone will grant my request. Thanks!
